California State Rules prevent a Notary Public from telling clients which "act" need, Acknowledgment or Jurat. NP Tip: Jurats are for Oaths and contain, "swear or affirm". NP Tip: Acknowledgments verify the identity of a signer. JURAT - A Jurat is an Oath and the wording in the section of the form that the Notary. This fee is separate from any Travel Fees charged for services performed at the client's location.
Travel fees must be disclosed and agreed to in advance of the appointment. Online Notary Services in the state of CALIFORNIA are not allowed by the Secretary of State's office. You MUST personally appear before a Notary with your document/s. This means that you or your legal designee must meet personally with a Notary Public and you must have acceptable photo identification.

If you need in-home, office, hospital, or other your-location notary services, you need a Mobile or Traveling Notary.
