Services
Colorado has a new law that allows notaries to notarize documents without meeting the signer of the document in person, through a procedure for remote, online notarization.
Littleton Mobile Notary is now providing remote, online notary services.
1. Contact us to make an appointment.
Before our meeting, you email the document to me (in PDF or Word format) so I can prepare it for electronic signature and notarization.
I'll send you information about the online notarization process and a link to a short video explaining how it works.
A notary public is a person appointed by the Secretary of State to act as an unbiased witness in legal transactions.
Notaries administer oaths and take acknowledgments of signatures on legal documents.
Notarization helps to prevent fraud by verifying the identity of persons signing these documents and making sure that the person knows what the document is and is signing it voluntarily.
Estate planning documents (wills, living wills, financial and medical powers of attorney, declarations of disposition of last remains, designated beneficiary agreements).
If your document will be sent to a foreign county, it may need to be "authenticated" first.
Usually this means having an Apostille placed on the document.
If you need an Apostille or authentication on your document, I would be happy to take care of all the details for you.
I can notarize the document if necessary, then arrange for the Apostille to be placed on the document by the Colorado Secretary of State.
What is an Apostille?
An Apostille is a standard certificate, issued in Colorado by the Secretary of State, that is attached to a document in order to certify to agencies in other countries that the document is legitimate.
In Colorado, a notary public can certify a copy of certain documents.
Documents for which certified copies are sometimes required include diplomas, awards, licenses, permits, powers of attorney, contracts, adoption documents, and passports.
However, if a copy of the document can be obtained from a Clerk and Recorder or other official agency in Colorado (such as a birth or death certificate, a transcript from a public school or university, or a certificate of naturalization), a notary public can not certify it.
The fee for notarization of a document is just $5.
To cover the cost of meeting you at your home, office, or other convenient location, I also charge a reasonable travel fee, starting at just $35 in Littleton and a bit more elsewhere in the Denver metro area.
Extra fees may apply for evening, nighttime, and weekend services.
The cost for remote online notarization is $35 for the first document and $15 for each additional document.
We accept payment by cash or check, but if you prefer a safe, touch-free payment methods, we offer contactless payments by credit or debit card, Apple Pay, GPay, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal.
