Services
Fingerprinting is done in one of two ways - digitally by scanning your fingerprints on to a Live Scan computer and/or by ink (wet prints) manually on an ink card.
Typically, your employer or the agency that requires you to have your background screened will inform you on the type of fingerprinting needed.
When your fingerprints are scanned digitally, it is referred to as a Live Scan.
Upon completion of your live scan, your digital prints are electronically submitted immediately to the CA Department of Justice (CA DOJ) and/or the FBI.

Sizes can range from 1" X 1" (23 X 23 mm) to 4" X 6" (151 X 101.6 mm) and photos can be taken in Black and White or Color as required.
This requires passport photos that meet the strict US State Department specifications and guidelines.

If you had your fingerprints taken by A1 LiveScan & Notary Services & your prints were rejected by the CA DOJ or FBI, there will be no additional charge for retaking your print.
If you had your fingerprints taken by another LiveScan facility, A1 LiveScan's standard rolling fee of $22.00 will apply.
There will be no additional Agency Fees charged for resubmissions.
In either case, you must bring your rejection letter & new livescan request form sent to you by the DOJ.
